MuseWrite is a group of professional writers, Michelle Duster, Jen Cullerton Johnson, and Trina Sotira, who are focused on creating a connection between writers and the community, providing a platform for artists to unite in a nourishing environment. Their writing spans from children’s to adult books, fiction and non-fiction which draws from personal, family, or someone else’s history.
In addition to books, they have written for television, marketing, advertising, literary journals, newspapers, and magazines.
Combined, the three writers have spoken to dozens of institutions and groups including the Chicago History Museum, Illinois Reading Council, American Library Association, NAACP, and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. They were also featured in Ebony Magazine, The Examiner, and a half-hour segment on ABC-7’s Chicagoing with Bill Campbell.
